The Trijicon TA31F : 4x32 is a must have optic for the AUG A-3. I have added a Trijicon RMR red dot above the ACOG. My advise on the RMR is to get the 8 moa dot because the 4 moa is too small. I've had a Trigicon Tao1 4x32 for about 20 years and the Tritium lamp still glows. Trijicon is clearly the best optic available at any price. Jungle Joel... Out !!! (Posted on 6/22/10)

Have setup several TA31RCO-M4 (approx TA31F) on Special Receiver AUG-A1, USR and new AUG A3. This scope fits very well on the AUG, easy to get good eye relief (short on this scope, made for M4). The elevation of the mount is perfect for USR and A3 for perfect stock weld.

The chevron facilitates accurate aiming to at least 500 yards (limit of my range testing), was hitting E targets 100%. Due to the fiber optics, the chevron works great for CQ work also. The optics on all of the Trijicon scopes beats older Hensoldt in low light testing. We could shoot 1 hour later with TA31 and hit E targets compared to '70's military Hensoldt. Of course the lens coatings are better now. The ballistic marks are accurate to at least 500 m.

The only trick is the mount needs to be reversed (if not already setup correctly) so the thumb screws are on the right hand side of the AUG to prevent injury to you left thumb or fore finger due to close clearance with the charging handle. This is easy, just need to have a bit of loc-tite to secure the base to the scope after reversing the mount. (Posted on 8/14/09)
